AWS Engineer

Providing 24x7 availability and integrity are crucial to our business and reputation, that's why we are looking for an AWS Engineer to strengthen our ITOps department. We need your experience and enthusiasm to help us operate, standardize, and optimize our infrastructure. 

Your responsibilities

You will work in the team of highly skilled engineers, to achieve an uptime of >99.99%. You will manage & support our Cloud Infrastructure to:

• Design, deploy (via Terraform), and manage AWS cloud infrastructure components (EC2 instances, VPC, EKS, S3, EFS, etc.).
• Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance.
• Monitor and maintain high availability and fault tolerance of cloud services.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and industry standards.
• Understand a complex technical architecture with a high degree of customisation.
• Operate and improve our automation tooling.
• Work with a DevOps mindset with other teams within the company to bring our products to a large number of corporate customers worldwide.

Who you are

• You have more than 4 years of experience in administration of AWS Cloud-based infrastructure.
• Flexible and able to focus despite many distractions.
• A diverse 1000-server infrastructure does not scare you – it inspires you.
• Fluent in English – and one or more programming/scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Hands-on experience and/or certification in managing AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, VPC, EKS, S3, EFS, etc.) and familiarity with AWS services.
• Capable of designing for 99.9+% uptime.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on experience in IaC (mainly Terraform) is a must.
• Extensive hands-on experience with application deployment and tools (Jenkins, Gitlab CI, Nexus) and using them to build reliable CD pipelines.
• Experience in configuration management (mainly Ansible) and monitoring tools (e.g. Cloudwatch / Prometheus / Grafana / Datadog).
• Additionally having experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra and/or Elasticsearch is nice to have.
• Experience with creating backups of systems without impacting production, being able to monitor them, being able to restore them quickly.
• You live in the Central European Timezone

Recruitment process

For this position it starts with an intake call with one of our talent partners. Afterwards we will plan a technical interview (no assignment) and we'll finish up with a call with the Head of ITOps. In general this recruitment process will take about 2 weeks from the intake call onwards.
